The Macromedia MX Developer Resource Kit contains cross-product articles and resources, Macromedia Flash MX components, and Dreamweaver MX extensions. These extensions and components for Macromedia Flash MX and Dreamweaver MX will only be available as part of this kit. For Macromedia Flash MX developers, the kit includes the new DataGrid component. The DataGrid component provides the most versatile and useful way of quickly displaying data in a tabular format within rich Internet applications. With support for scrolling, paging, Macromedia Flash Remoting, customization, editable cells, and custom cell renderers, it can accommodate most data display needs.

"The Macromedia Flash MX DataGrid component is the most versatile component ever released by Macromedia," said Justin Watkins, interactive producer, Learning Insights, Inc. "Almost every application needs to display data in a tabular format and the DataGrid component enables you to create tables with user-resizable columns, custom cell symbols, and editable text fields with barely any code. It brings rich Internet application development to a new level. "

Also for Macromedia Flash MX, the Media Component enables developers to quickly load and playback various media types including video within their content. In addition, the Macromedia Flash UI Component Set 3 will help streamline user interface development of rich Internet applications.

For Dreamweaver MX developers, the kit contains extensions for website building and application development. The extensions help display data in PHP applications, add functions to the file menu in Dreamweaver, and edit themes for sites developed using Radio Userland for editing weblogs.
